Changing Password on a TCNJ Mac when on Wireless or when off-campus

If you received your TCNJ Mac, or your Mac was upgraded during of after the Spring 2019 semester, your Mac would be encrypted with the NoMAD software, please refer to this article about how to change your password.

 

  1. Go to https://tims.tcnj.edu and follow the instructions to change your password
  2. DO NOT change the local password on your Mac (using System Preferences > Users)
  3. Continue using your PREVIOUS password to log into your Mac
  4. Use your NEW password for accessing campus resources (such as email, Oracle, etc)
  5. The next time you are on campus, plug into the wired network
  6. Follow these directions, depending if you are on an encrypted or un-encypted machine

For step six: to determine if your Mac is encrypted, follow these steps:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Open the Security & Privacy preference pane
  3. Click on the "FileVault tab"
  4. IF the FileVault tab is there and openable, your Mac is encrypted. Otherwise, it is not.
