If you received your TCNJ Mac, or your Mac was upgraded during of after the Spring 2019 semester, your Mac would be encrypted with the NoMAD software, please refer to the Changing Password on a TCNJ Mac Encrypted with NoMAD article article about how to change your password.
Changing Your Password:
- Go to https://tims.tcnj.edu and follow the instructions to change your password
- DO NOT change the local password on your Mac (using System Preferences > Users)
- Continue using your PREVIOUS password to log into your Mac
- Use your NEW password for accessing campus resources (such as email, Oracle, etc)
- The next time you are on campus, plug into the wired network
- Follow the directions outlined at the encrypted Mac password change articleor follow the directions outlined at the un-encypted Mac password change article.
For step six: to determine if your Mac is encrypted, follow these steps:
- Open System Preferences
- Open the Security & Privacy preference pane
- Click on the "FileVault tab"
- IF the FileVault tab is there and openable, your Mac is encrypted. Otherwise, it is not.
