Transferring Files from a TCNJ Google Shared Drive to Your Personal Google My Drive

To start this process, your TCNJ Google Account must be a "Manager" of the Shared Drive. To have your privileges elevated, please contact the IT Help Desk.

In your TCNJ Google Account

 

  1. Open your TCNJ Google Drive
  2. Navigate to the Shared Drive where your files are stored.
  3. Click "Manage members"

Enter your personal Gmail address and assign yourself the Content Manager role and click "Send."

In your Personal Google Account

  1. Log into Your Personal Google Drive
  2. Open the Shared Drive folder
  3. Highlight the files and sub-folders you want to move
  4. Right-click the files or folders you want to move, select “Organize” > "Move"​​​​​​​

When the window comes up, select  “All Locations” tab > "My Drive" (under your personal account) > select "Move

You will be prompted with a notification to verify to "Make yourself the new owner?" > select "Move"

**NOTE: Please be sure to confirm that your Personal Google Account has enough free storage to accommodate the contents of the TCNJ Shared Drive you want to move**
