Installing the EMS Cloud Desktop Client on Your Computer

This article will bring you through installing the new version of the EMS desktop client. If you still have an old version of the desktop client installed, it is recommended that you uninstall that first, which we have also provided instructions for.

Uninstalling the EMS Desktop Client

  1. Click on the Windows “Start” button and start searching "Add or remove programs" to find the "Add or remove programs" control panel option. This option may appear even before you finish typing

  2. Scroll down to find the EMS Desktop Client app

  3. Click the three dots on the right hand side and select "Uninstall"

Installing the new EMS Desktop Client

  1. Use the following link to get to the page where you can download the installer for the EMS Desktop Client: https://tcnj.emscloudservice.com/desktop/
  2. On this page, click the link for "Download and Install the EMS Desktop Client"

  3. Two files will be downloaded, "emswebdeployconfiguration" (a CFG file) and "EMSApplication" (an application file); save them to your computer. please not that if you still have the previous version’s install files, you will see a duplicate name followed by a 1 (or other number) in parentheses. You will have to rename these files to remove that number/parentheses and overwrite the old files. Click Yes to replace the files.

    • Additionally, you may see a warning when downloading the files that they are unverified or potentially harmful. Click “Keep,” “Save,” or "Download to save the files on your computer

  4. Open the EMSApplication file through either the web browser download or by going to the location you saved the file

  5. If you left EMS open on your computer you may see this pop up. Click “Close EMS For Me” to continue installation

  6. Finally, the installer will run and automatically open EMS
