How to Print Across Campus with Tap and Go

Body

For students, staff, and faculty alike, printers with Tap and Go are stationed across campus to make printing, copying, and scanning as accessible as possible.

Student Printing

TCNJ has printers available in the following locations for students' convenience:

  • Brower Student Center 2nd floor
  • Eickhoff Hallway (near the Res Ed Office)
  • Education Hallway (outside of 212)
  • R. Barbara Gitenstein Library throughout the lower level/all four floors

Students can send documents to these printers through the following methods:

Once a job has been sent to the printing queue, simply just head over to the nearest unoccupied printer and release the print job.

Employee Printing

  1. Open the Document:
    • Open the document you want to print on your computer
  2. Print Settings:
    • In the print menu, select the correct printer as the target (all department network printers are named in the format p________)
    • If needed, adjust print settings such as page orientation, paper type, and quality
  3. Print:
    • Click the "Print" button to send job to printer
  4. Load Paper:
    • Open the paper tray and load the appropriate type and size of paper if it is empty
  5. Release the print job from the printer

Releasing the Print Job

  1. As soon as you walk up to the printer, the touch screen will automatically turn on
  2. After it turns on, you are free to Tap your ID or Phone (with mobile credentials) on the side of the console screen

  3. Select "Print Release" from the menu that appears after it logs you in
  4. Tap the checkbox next to the individual document you wish to print or "Select all jobs" if you have multiple you intend to print at the same time and then tap "Print"

Copying

  1. Place Document:
    • Lift the scanner lid and place the document face down on the glass or use the document feeder if you prefer
    • Line the document up with the red arrow in the corner of the glass
  2. Tap ID and Navigate to the Menu:
    • Tap your ID or Phone (with mobile credentials) on the side of the console screen
    • Press "Access Device" on the Touch Screen after tapping your ID
    • Press “Access Device” on the next sreen that appears
  3. Set Copy Settings:
    • Select the number of copies, color options, and any other relevant settings
  4. Start Copying:
    • Press the "Start" or "Copy" button (not on the touch screen) to begin the copying process
  5. Don't forget to take your original physical copy!

Scanning

  1. Place Document:
    • Lift the scanner lid and place the document face down on the glass or use the document feeder if you prefer
    • Line the document up with the red arrow in the corner of the glass
  2. Tap ID and Navigate to the Menu:
    • Tap your ID or Phone (with mobile credentials) on the side of the console screen
  3. Press "Scan" on the Touch Screen after tapping your ID
  4. Select one of the three scanning destination options that are presented
    • Scan to My Email - sends the scanned file as an attachment to your TCNJ email
    • Scan to TCNJ User - sends the scanned file as an attachment to a different TCNJ email that you specify​
      ​​​​​​
  5. Don't forget to take your original physical copy!
