With the recent migration of the R:\ Drive to Google Drive, depending on your access to those R:\ drives will depend on where you will now find the data within them.
Read or Read/Write Access to Root R:\ Drive
- Open G:\ drive on your desktop or go to drive.google.com

- Click on “Shared Drives”

- In this section you will see all the R:\ drives you have full read/write access to.
If you were granted access to a subfolder within an R:\ drive, but not given full access to the entire drive itself, below is how you will find those subfolders:
Read or Read/Write Subfolder Access:
- Go to drive.google.com
- Click “Shared with Me” on the left hand side

- You will see the subfolders that are owned by “googleproxy” here. Those folders are the ones from the R:\ drives you had read access to, and are now housed here.
To make it easier to access these subfolders through Google Drive for desktop, you can create shortcuts for these and house the shortcuts in your “My Drive”.
How to Create Shortcuts to Folders
- Go to drive.google.com
- Click on “Shared with Me”
- Find the folder/file you would like to make a shortcut to
- Click the “three dots” to the right of the file or folder
- Click the option “organize”
- Click “add a shortcut”

- In the pop-up box, click on “All locations” then select “My drive”. This will create a shortcut housed in your My Drive for the folder you’ve selected. Note: to keep it organized, you can create a new folder in your My Drive and name it something like “Shortcuts” or “Read Access R:\drive” and choose that as the location to keep these in.
- Click “Add”

- These will now be accessible from your desktop by clicking on the G:\ Drive from your file explorer, then clicking on your My Drive, and then navigating to the location you put your shortcut.
