What is Zoom AI Companion?
Zoom AI companion is a suite of tools to help increase productivity both during and after your meetings with features like the Whiteboard content generation and meeting summaries, as well as tools to help better organize and format your recordings.
Meeting Summaries
Zoom AI meeting summaries are turned on by default. The summaries are emailed to the host afterwards and include both quick overall summaries and detailed breakdowns of the different topics discussed in the meeting.
You can adjust the meeting summary settings by clicking the AI Companion option in the meeting and toggling them from there. This is how you would change the recipients of the summary or turn it off for that meeting.
For more information on Zoom's AI meeting summary feature, you can check out this Zoom Support article.
Virtual Background Generation
In addition to the regular background blur and Zoom provided backgrounds, you can now have Zoom AI Companion generate a background at your request.
To access this feature, right-click on your meeting screen and select "Adjust background & effects..."
For more information on using Zoom backgrounds, you can check out this Zoom support website article.
Smart Recording
Smart recording brings the power of Zoom AI Companion to cloud recordings, allowing you to organize your cloud recording into sections called smart chapters, get the key takeaways in a quick and digestible format through recording highlights, identify action items to take after the meeting or webinar with next steps, and even provide the host analytics on key meeting and conversation factors, including talk speed, talk-listen ratio, longest spiel (or monologue), filler word usage, and patience. This feature is especially useful for long meetings and webinars – such as a lecture, brainstorming session, or company all-hands – where you may want to divvy up the recording for easier viewing.
Smart recordings are enabled when recording to the cloud. To start a recording, click the "More" option and then under "Record" you will see the option for recording to the cloud with smart recording enabled.

Whiteboard Content Creation
Whiteboard content creation enhances Zoom's Whiteboard function by adding an AI assistant to help generate helpful assets from sticky notes to flowcharts.

To create a Whiteboard in a meeting, select the "More" option and then go to the "Whiteboards" section to either create a new one or open an existing one from your account.
