Google Meet is a way to hold interviews, conferences, and meetings remotely through the Google platform.

For in-depth training guides on how to use Google Meet, visit its Google Workspace Learning Center page here!

Google Meet also has a free mobile app that participants can use to attend sessions. Simply search "Google Meet" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Tips and Tricks:

  • When creating/editing an event in Calendar, find the “Add conferencing” pull-down and select Hangouts Meet. Anyone invited to this meeting can click the provided link to join your meeting when the scheduled time arrives. This includes a phone number and PIN for those that want to dial-in from their phone just to listen as well as the direct link to the full video meeting

  • There is an extension for Google Chrome called "Google Meet Grid View" which will show all Meet participants at once on your screen, as opposed to whoever it registers is currently talking. Instructions on how to add this extension to your Google Chrome browser can be found attached to the right-hand side of this article
    • Disclaimer: Google Meet Grid view Chrome extension is just a recommendation and was created by a third party, it's not an official TCNJ application supported by TCNJ. The privacy statement for the extension can be found at the end of the instructions attached to this article

As part of our G Suite for Education license, you may participate with up to 100 participants during a meeting

MTSS has also made instructional videos on how to use some of these Google Meet features. You can find them on their website here.
